Jeremy Rifkin: The Empathic Civilization: The Race to Global Consciousness in a World in Crisis

From C-SPAN2's Book TV, an hour with Jeremy Rifkin discussing his most recent (and most important) book - The Empathic Civilization: The Race to Global Consciousness in a World in Crisis. This book should be a must read for anyone interested in how we got to this place and time and how to move forward.

His model of empathy development in Western Civilization follows a pattern that looks quite a bit like models by Gebser, Graves, and Wilber. Without ever using the terms, his model also takes in all of the quadrants in one way or another.
